Strawberry Jam

YAY for spring!! i have been looking around at blogs and seeing Jams, so I decided to try it for the first time with Yummy Strawberries (especially since they are so cheap right now!) Got the recipe from the Sure-Jell Pectin Box

Ingredients:
- 1 box Pectin
- 4 pints Strawberries
- 3 cups sugar
- Multiple Tupperware containers ( I used five 2 cup containers)

Prep the Strawberries- cutting of the stems and slicing into smaller chunks (just in 1/2 unless really big). Put strawberries in a big bowl and mash with a potato masher (i did this 1 box of strawberries at a time). Measure out 4 cups of mashed strawberries.

In a large pot, add exactly 3 cups and 1 box of pectin. Mix well and add 1 cup of water. Bring mixture to a boil (STIRRING CONSTANTLY). Boil and stir for 1 minute and remove from heat.

Immediately stir in the strawberries and pour into prepared containers (do not fill all the way in case in expands, leave about 1/2 inch). Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours to set and then refrigerate for 3 weeks for freeze for up to 1 year!

I have to admit I am not the creator for most of these recipes! Most of these come from friends or the Foodnetwork, and other websites. I usually tweak it, but i get them from other sources. THANK YOU OTHER PEOPLE,but please... use them, circulate them, make them your own. Just make sure you give the credit to the right person, which isn't always me!
